Big spaceships and big thrusters

Today’s questions reminded me of something I wrote in the past.

Big spaceships with even bigger thrusters

Essentially, this looks at the size of different spaceships according to the size of their thrusters. Something really cool happens when something depends on the volume and something depends on the area. These two things do not scale the same. This is why elephants have thick legs and spiders have proportionally much thinner legs.
