Now, what can you do? Consider the following questions for each case:
- Calculate the momentum before and after the collision (with uncertainty).
- Calculate the kinetic energy before and after the collision (with uncertainty).
- For each collision, is it elastic or inelastic or somewhere in between?
- Can you estimate the average force between the two carts during the interaction?
Finally, if you want to be really awesome, think of a way you can model these collisions in python. Hint: you have to be a little trick, but if the python program agrees with the actual data – that is good.
